Julie Fowlis from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland is a Scottish folk singer and multi- instrumentalist who sings primarily in Scottish Gaelic. Among the many instruments she plays are the great Highland bagpipes and the Scottish small pipes. Fowlis won the Horizon Award at the 2006 BBC2 Folk Awards and won Folk Singer of the Year at the 2008 Awards. Many will know Julie as co-presenter along with Kerry singer Muireann NicAmhlaoibh, of the magnificent TG4 series Port, tracing a journey of shared musical roots through Scotland and Ireland. Expect a spirited and sublime performance from Julie and her band, the cream of musicians from Scotland and Ireland.
