Maria Doyle Kennedy makes a welcome return to the Galway Sessions. Most recently feted as an actress in ‘The Tudors’, Maria has released a diverse array of albums Charm (2001), Skullcover (2004), Mutter (2007) with influences such as Billie Holiday, Sandy Denny and Sigur Ros.

The overall sound created by Maria and her husband masterful guitarist Kieran and their band evokes a folk-ambient hybrid, warm airs and carefully crafted words. It has been described as music that is haunted and haunting casting shadows and unreal lights whose after-effects linger long in the mind.
