Thursday 10th June, 8.00pm, Tolbooth. Admission £12 / £10
John & Dessie O’Halloran

Inisboffin is a small island of the north west coast of Galway famed for it’s music and song. The island probably has one of the highest percentages of musicians per head of population anywhere in the world, the O’Halloran clan being the most prominent. Cousins John & Dessie O’Halloran play one row melodeon and fiddle, the preferred instruments on the island, in a style that is pulsating rhythmic and richly staccato, evocative of there wild and windswept Atlantic home. Dessie is well known also as a singer and for his work with the Sharon Shannon Band. They are joined by whistle player Mick Crehan, a regular guest with the Inisboffin Ceili Band and virtuoso string-man Colm Naughton.
