Venezuela’s El Sistema movement has transformed tens of thousands of lives in South America, and revitalised the world of music. Its children’s orchestras make wonderful sounds, but also strive to bring social change by giving the young players respect for themselves and each other. Two years ago the charity Sistema Scotland established the first European centre of this remarkable phenomenon - in the Raploch estate in Stirling. Its Big Noise Orchestra is going from strength to strength and hundreds of children are now participating. In this very special performance, for families of the participants, The Big Noise celebrates its second birthday with guests from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
