Anna Falkenau with Ivan Murray and Lena Ullman, Special Guest Neil Ferguson

This early evening gig by German born Galway resident Anna Falkenau is an opportunity to experience how Scots/Irish fiddle music and song evolved after traversing the Atlantic. A virtuoso fiddle player Anna has been described as “an excellent exponent of traditional Irish fiddle playing” and as an “ambassador for what is best in Irish traditional music” She is equally at home with the old-timey music of the Appalachian mountains. She has performed extensively as a soloist and with noted Irish traditional artists including Johnny Moynihan, Mary Shannon, the late Seamus Creagh, Aidan Coffey, Mick Daly, and as a member of Liz Doherty’s Fiddle Sticks. She will be joined by singer, songwriter and guitarist Ivan Murray, co-founder of Galway based band The Rye, the extraordinary vocalist and claw-hammer banjo player Lena Ullman of Moonshine and the excellently talented young Scot’s fiddler Neil Ferguson from Calender in the Trossachs.
